So.... Next Year
#1
I'm generally not this pessimistic about the season, but I feel no reason to watch this team. Given the payroll, the complete lack of hitting, defense, fundamentals, middle relief and passion is indefensible.

I've pretty much given up caring this season. I'm wondering if the team isn't blown up, whether next year will be any different. I know it's not realistic, but I'm all for taking the Marlins approach and selling everyone worth a damn for prospects and getting kids in here who really want to play.
I got nothin'.

I hope we get swept this weekend. I honestly do. Big changes need to happen here, and I have no desire to watch this miserable team any longer. Whatever it takes to force a regime change is fine by me.

I'd like to see Cashner, Dempster, Marmol, Marshall, Wells, Zambrano, Soto, Castro, Lee, Byrd & Colvin back even though some of them have struggled. That said, I'd sell any of them for the right return...except maybe the three kids...and my man Byrd.

The only ones I would keep are Cashner, Castro, and Colvin.....everyone else is available.

I never stop watching the games whether they are doing well or not. But I do hope they make some trades and offload some of the high-priced flops. Next year definitely won't be different with this same team. The bright spots for me this year have been Castro and Soto (again).

I fear Wells will be an afterthought by next season. The rest of that list sans Lee can return though as far as I'm concerned, and we can do a partial rebuild but only if Hendry is gone.

Fuck that!

I'm under no illusions that this team will turn this crap around anytime soon but why lose to the White Sucks?

Because it might force ownership to fire people. We are going to get swept anyway.

As much as it would suck to get swept by the Sox, it might be what is needed to begin making some wholesale changes.

Ricketts is going to fire people on his pace. Getting swept by the crosstown rivals may or may not going to do anything to hasten that pace.

The team is going to change next year with or without this series loss.

That may be true. And believe me, I would never enjoy losing to those abominations on the South Side, ever. Even uttering the words makes me feel dirty. At the same time, I really hate this team right now, and seems every time we win a game, which isn't often, it just prolongs the inevitable.

This.

I'm not wasting my time on these assholes anymore this season. I've watched probably two full games in the last week and half. They simply aren't worth my time.

Hendry needs to be gone before any sort of fire sale begins

I agree. Not usually a big Hendry basher, but we seriously need to start fresh from top down.
