Well, as much as I hate the guy, he wouldn't look bad in the middle of our order.
He's the hell of a good hitter, but just like Muskrat said, the Cards won't help us.
I'm now getting used to the idea of Bradley in Cubbie blue next year...

I'll only take him for defense. His hitting isn't going to get better, pitchers are now knowing how to get him out.

He's not that great defensively. He's made some good plays just off athleticism but he takes a lot of stupid routes in center. He's going to have to play right or left at some point.

Yes, but he's not a liability out there. We lived through a Henry Rodriquez/Brant Brown/Sammy Sosa defense. I think a post earlier about expectations having gone up since '03 is so true. Marquis in 1996 would be loved. And Ankiel in 1993 would be a saint for us. It's good that we have high expectations, but his defense isn't terrible. The Red Sox won 2 titles with Manny in left and David Ortiz playing games at first in NL parks.
Do I want Ankiel? Hell no. But I think he has a better glove than Bradley, Ibanez, Dunn, etc, although their bats outweigh Mr. HGH.
