12 into 1740 = 145 per ticket. Not exactly my idea of a deal. I can tell you that even when I eat and drink well, I do not spend $145 at a game.

rooftops - ruby23 - 03-12-2009

That's a terrible deal, the article tries to make it seem like it's a good deal, but it's far from it.

rooftops - Coldneck - 03-12-2009

I'd like to try out a rooftop one day, but I can guarantee it would be an inferior and more expensive experience to sitting in an average seat at Wrigley.

Plus, you can get rooftop seats to individual games for far less $145 a seat. The article is trying to make it seem like the "packages" are really a good deal when they're clearly just a price gouge.

Has anyone here actually seen a game from a rooftop? I'd like to hear about it if they have.

No way I'd pay that much to sit across the street, with what surely would be a limited view. I don't see the attraction, other than nostalgia or some concept of "cool".

It's kind of a novelty, and it's fun to eat and drink without limit. However, it's nowhere near as good as sitting anywhere inside the park.

rooftops - Bricklayer - 03-12-2009

The only times I sat on a rooftop were on work vendor's expense. Free food, free drink, a day off work, watch a game, listen to a sales pitch, it was great. If I had to pay, not a chance in hell. If I'm wasting money, I'd rather give that Batter's Eye restaurant in the CF bleachers a go than a rooftop.

rooftops - phan - 03-12-2009

My buddy works for Schwabb so I've been to their rooftop and it's pretty cool. You can see the whole game and you feel a part of the crowd for the most part.

add in free beer, food, hd tv, and the radio feed and it's even better.

you can get packages for under $100

Yeah, the prices in that article were just totally out of line, especially when you'd think you would be getting a better deal for buying tickets to 12-18 games.

Yep, Im going to one this year for the first time just to check it out.

rooftops - Croz - 03-16-2009

I'm doing the rooftop thing for the first time. I think the only appealing thing about it is the free food and drink. If not for that I would much rather be in the stadium.
