Corgan will continue to write and record as SMASHING PUMPKINS with plans to head into the studio this spring."

yep, looks like it's about done. billy will go out as the pumpkins i guess and i'm not sure how i feel about that yet. even at the last show they were best buds, who knows with them though.

for those that care - billy's in the studio recording 5 demos. my guess is it'll just be owata, song for a son, 99 floors, the march hare and as rome burns but we'll see. he says they'll "sound like spring".

i think they run out of ideas. look at the foo fighters, they've been making the same album for years. i think that with the right producer, they could do something fresh.
having said that, the pumpkins last album was really really good.

yeah, especially when the band is fueled by 1 guys songwriting ability...there's only so much you can produce out of thin air.
if you have collaborative band like I imagine bands like radiohead to be where all members are contributing to the whole, it's much easier to keep things fresh i think.
