Lou says Marmol and Gregg both get the day off too.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Giff - 05-05-2009

Guess Lou doesn't think we've got much of a shot against Lincecum.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Butcher - 05-05-2009

What the hell? Lincecum is a great pitcher and all, but damn. Throwing in the towel and conceding the game is the answer here?

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - biggz - 05-05-2009

So when does the regular season start?

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - cigar - 05-05-2009

I don't have a problem with it. We are in the middle of 20 games in a row. Today is a get away day. Ramirez is just coming off a injury and with Bradley getting hit by a pitch and as injury prone as he is you might as well sit him too. Theriot has not had a day off this season. Gathwright has not started a game yet this season.

I agree, but WOW! This is gonna be a good fantasy day for Lincecum owners.

I don't have any problem whatsoever with resting guys. I just think it's weird that nearly the entire starting lineup is sitting. 5 of the 8 spots that aren't the SP are bench players.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Butcher - 05-05-2009

Baseball is weird, though. This lineup could end up tearing Lincecum a new one...

Exactly. More so than any other sport, anything can happen on a given day. That's why I don't really have a problem with it.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Fella - 05-05-2009

Well, that might be the game with this lineup and Lincecum on the mound.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Vine - 05-05-2009

Guess I should turnt his game on...14 pitches in and it's 3-0? Great.

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Brock - 05-05-2009

Does anyone have #s for Cubs hitters against Lincecum?

Cubs vs. Giants 5/5/09 - Clapp - 05-05-2009

Oh well, wrote this one off as a loss last week. Just glad we won 4 in a row coming into it.

I'm pretty sure Scales is 0-0 in his career if that helps.

And I don't mind resting players, but the whole team on the same day? If I was at this game I would pissed. You can only hope the Cubs score early to make this thing a game before he sets in.
