What's going on with Bradley? Just a day off, or does it have to do with his suspension?

Cubs vs Padres - 05/14/09 - Andy - 05-14-2009

Lou said that DLee, Bradley and Fontenot were just getting a day off because it was a night game yesterday and a day game today.

Let's capitalize here.

Cubs vs Padres - 05/14/09 - Andy - 05-14-2009

The only concern is that while his power is up, his obp and ba are down.

Cubs vs Padres - 05/14/09 - Clapp - 05-14-2009

I didn't think he could hit it that far to right field, that's been the most surprising one yet.

It's nice and all, and he was the difference in last night's game, but is anyone else worried about him getting into some bad habits and trying to swing for the fences in every AB? He was in a pretty bad slump coming into this series and it seemed his only hits lately have been of the longball variety.

I just hope he doesn't think he's developing ARod-type power at SS, and completely forgets how valuable he was for us as a singles/doubles hitter.

The one upside to this is that with all these HRs, he hasn't had as many opportunitied to make many boneheaded baserunning blunders.

Pat made that one sound like it was long gone.

And that's what I posted in the Pitchers/Catchers report thread last night. If it keeps up, that's awesome, but I don't think it can like this. He's more valuble to us how he was last yeair. And as I posted, his strikeouts are way up this year.
