The Draft - BT - 06-09-2009

I'm hoping we get Strasburg.

The Draft - ColoradoCub - 06-09-2009

Isn't the draft on MLB Network?

I could totally see him falling to #31.

The Draft - rok - 06-09-2009

No matter who we pick, he will suck. I wish we could trade our pick like in other sports.

yes

The Draft - BT - 06-09-2009

Sox fan called into Boers and Bernstien yesterday. His big idea was that the Sox should trade:

Konerko
Floyd
"the second pick"

to the Nationals. And all the Nats would have to give the Sox back was the first pick in the draft and Adam Dunn.

Anyone see any problems with that? Other than:

-you can't trade draft picks
-no one wants Konerko
-Floyd seems to be turning back into a pumpkin
-Dunn is better than Konerko
-The Sox don't own "the second pick"
-Strasburg is the best prospect to come out, maybe ever
-Boras is Strasburg's agent
-The Sox don't deal with Boras
-Reinsdorf would never pay 20-50 million for a pitcher who hasn't pitched an inning of professional baseball
-Again, you can't trade draft picks.

Otherwise, SMASHING IDEA!

The Draft - Fella - 06-09-2009

We are projected to take yet another Notre Dame player, A.J Pollock

Kenny Williams could pull that deal off.

I don't know anything about him, but my guess is that he'll never amount to shit.

What was dickhead and fuckface's reaction to that? Did they tell the caller he was dumb or do they only reserve that for Cubs fans.

He'd be a Notre Dame product and Cubs first round pick, so basically he'd be fucked.

Actually it's interesting you should mention that. A week or two ago, a guy made the mistake of calling Fox and Hoffpauer "pieces", as in "now that we have the pieces in place...". He didn't get any further, as Bernstein immediately started ripping into him. IE, "they aren't pieces, they are career minor leaguers", asking the guy how good on a scale of 1 to 10 he thought these guys were, blah blah blah. It clearly upset him. By the end of the show, he had blown it so out of proportion that now all Cub fans think Fox is going to the Hall of Fame.

So now this bozo calls in, and they laugh at him (how could you not), but all B&B can muster is "you can't trade draft picks", and move on to the next caller. I mean, they could have spent HOURS ripping on this guy, but instead, it was just more like "you're kinda dumb, we are moving on".

Obviously a double standard.

Interesting read on the draft and Boras
