I agree with everything Braun said. I can understand why Melvin and the Brewers are pissed but he just said what I'm sure every Milwaukee fan has been saying all season.

<!--QuoteBegin-"MLBTradeRumors.com"+-->QUOTE ("MLBTradeRumors.com")<!--QuoteEBegin-->Brewers, Braves Not Discussing Vazquez
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 6 at 4:35pm CST]

4:35pm: Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spoke with Brewers GM Doug Melvin and heard that the two teams are not discussing a trade for Vazquez.

3:40pm: The Brewers heard Ryan Braun's plea for help and they have responded. They called the Braves about Javier Vazquez, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. However, Atlanta likely won't part with Vazquez in a deal that doesn't bring back Mat Gamel or Alcides Escobar, a pair of youngsters Brewers GM Doug Melvin has repeatedly deemed untouchable. Buster Olney said this weekend that the Brewers wouldn't be able to acquire Vazquez for Corey Hart alone.
The Brewers need pitching and the Braves have rotation depth, as Tim Hudson's expected to return next month. However, Braves GM Frank Wren won't make a deal unless he's "overwhelmed," as Vazquez is a major trade chip in a pitching-thin market. Vazquez makes $11.5MM this year and next and he can't be traded to any Western division team without his permission.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

As much as I hate Braun, and believe me it's even more than you all can imagine, I don't have a huge problem with what he's said. It's the truth, and what's wrong with the team's top player trying to spark his team? If one of our guys said the same things during one of our mediocre years, we'd probably applaud him.

And Vazquez isn't the answer.

Now that is funny, although Melvin is being a bigger douche about this than Braun. He's adding fuel to the fire and making sure the media talks about this for much longer.

Like I said, I don't have a huge problem with Braun's comments in this case. Melvin did NOT improve his team in the offseason aside from adding Hoffman and fixing parts of the bullpen. Their rotation is beyond mediocre.

Melvin is a douche, and he's still trying to beg for validation based on his CC trade. Different year, jackass. Turn the page.

I don't think you call out your pitchers and your GM, using the media. I wouldn't want to hear Zambrano say that our hitters need to hit better, and Jim Hendry needs to go out and trade for some hitters. It sounds like a douche thing to say. Braun needs to go see Melvin behind closed doors, when he wants to try and play GM.

The thing with Jack Wilson and the Pirates was different, IMO. They have been trading their best players and cashing it in for years now. The whole team should be screaming to get out of town.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->It looks like Ryan Braun's recent call for the front office to make a move soon to improve the Milwaukee Brewers did not fall on deaf ears.

General manager Doug Melvin definitely heard Braun's remarks. He wasn't happy with what he heard, however.

"It was inappropriate for him to say what he said, and I'm not happy about it," Melvin told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Monday.

"To make the statements he made and also get on his teammates like that, it was irresponsible on his part. It just ticked me off."

Braun, the top All-Star vote-getting NL outfielder for the second straight season, voiced his frustrations Sunday after the Brewers lost 8-2 to the Chicago Cubs, who won three of four in the series. He immediately called out the starting pitching.

"[The Cubs] starting pitching is a lot better than ours," Braun said. "They threw the ball a lot better than our starters did. They certainly swung the bats better than we did. Clearly they were the better team. It's nice to get the one win but they clearly outplayed us and outperformed us all series."

Braun also said he hoped Melvin would make a move to better the Brewers soon.

"We're at the point right now where it would be important for us to go out there and acquire somebody," Braun said.

"I know [Melvin] is trying to make our ballclub better. I know he recognizes the importance of making a move and making it soon, but at the same time I think everybody's recognized there's a lot of teams that are still in the race."

The Brewers, one game behind the Cardinals in the tight NL Central, host St. Louis for a three-game series beginning Tuesday.

"No matter who is in there, we have to find a way to throw the ball better for us to have success," Braun said Sunday. "I think when you're constantly behind in games, it's not easy and it's not fun."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

While I think he's right I don't think he's in a position yet to call people out publicly.

It's tough to get on him too much for this considering he does plenty of other way douchier things on a daily basis.

Yep. He could of just as easily went to Melvin in his office or called him and told him the same thing instead of doing it through the media. That is a classes way of telling your GM what you think the team needs. That showed a lack of respect not only for the GM but his teammates as well.
