MANNY WAS CAUGHT ! there's no way one can be let in and not the other. the fact of the matter is, whether we like it or not, every player on that list deserves to get in except for mcgriff. all of them. they were the best of their eras. HOF - Or Not? - rok - 07-13-2009 Jim Thome YES Frank Thomas YES Fred McGriff NO Manny Ramirez YES Jeff Bagwell NO Sammy Sosa YES Gary Sheffield NO Rafael Palmeiro NO Ken Griffey Jr. YES Chipper Jones YES I'm kind of torn on Palmeiro and Bagwell (Sosa too). During their prime, I assumed they'd both get in, but in retrospect, I just don't see them as HOF caliber. I guess you can say the same for Sosa, if you take out those 4 monster years he had, but I'm really still trying to accept him back. The biggest problem I have with Sosa is the huge dropoff he had between 2001-04. He literally went from being an elite player to just another slugger. But for 4 straight seasons, he was unbelievable though. I'm really torn, and will be for a long long time. |
