I can't believe I took the time to read that entire article. I'm still trying to figure out the point of all that. A cautionary tale? An attempt to get his name in the press so he can promote his shitty baseball camp?

What makes Jim Parque think anybody gives a shit about his story?

And the "I needed to provide for my family" line is fucking lame.

Exactly, it's still just an excuse.

Parquee mentions that enrollment for his camps increased after he admitted and appologized for taking HGH. He says the increase occurred due to parents wanting their kids to learn from a guy who knew he did wrong. Any chance his enrollment increased because parents and kids wanted to learn from someone who admitted to taking HGH so they could do it for themselves?

I'm one who believes that the vast majority of professional athletes in the 90s and through today take some type of PED. I don't care if it's about the money, fame or due to their competitive nature.

Looking for an edge, legal or otherwise, has always been part of the game and probably always will be.

Butters took HGH - Jody - 07-23-2009

All I can say after reading that is Blah Blah Blah. He's basically admitting that he did do wrong but in the same breath he's still making excuses for himself in that the circumstances made him do it and that we all would have done the same thing given his situation.

The Sox fans on the Score this morning were really slobbering over this guy and feeling really sad for him. I feel sad for them.

I don't understand how you can listen to that station.

There's really nothing else on in the morning, and I hate to listen to music that early. I don't mind Hanley and Mulligan, and at least Hanley is a Cubs fan. That's really the only time I listen to it, aside from tuning in after a Sox loss to enjoy the whining.

I just wish WGN or some other station would have more Cubs talk so there would be something besides the Score to listen to.

If I knew (or had a good idea) that taking some sort of PED would propel me to the majors or prolong my time there, I'd take that PED and not think twice about it. I also think that a vast majority of the people out there that keep trying to push the PED issue are total hypocrites. I think that if they given the same opportunity as players that chose to take PEDs, they would also have taken the same PEDs that they claim has/is ruining the game. This whole issue needs to be put to bed, and the MLB and MLBPA can do it by allowing annual/semi-annual blood tests to occur in addition to the current piss tests.
