So I'm at the doctor's office today and I was in the waiting room. And its one of those new fancy places so theres a bunch of computers. So I get on and I go to the Cubs page to read stuff and pass some time. And a random ass thought pops into my head. What the fuck happened to Matt Clement. It seems after we got rid of him he played for Boston and fell off the fucking face of the earth. Does anyone know where that bushy chinned bastard is?

He signed with Toronto to try a comeback and couldn't hack it. Then he retired.

Edit: He is apparently now a high school basketball coach: http://postgazette.com/pg/09174/979260-361.stm

Matt Freaking Clement - alpha - 07-31-2009

He retired last year IIRC.

Matt Freaking Clement - Ronsantorocks - 07-31-2009

Basketball coach? hmm. That's cool I guess. Sorry for the randomness but I was just like.. What the Fuck. Is Mark Prior done too?

Matt Freaking Clement - Ronsantorocks - 07-31-2009

no wait nevermind. Hes in the Padres orginization. I remember that one

Matt Freaking Clement - kbwsb - 07-31-2009

One of the ESPN guys was talking about young pitchers the other day, because some young guy (Greinke ?) had pitched a game where he K'd 15 guys, and walked no one. The writer said that any time a pitcher has done that, historically, he has become a superstar (Pedro, Big Unit, Clemens, Koufax, etc.) except for the rare few with bad injury problems.

It was a very small list. Yet BOTH Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were on it.

Oh, what might have been.

Well Kerry Wood might not have been a superstar but he was a good pitcher and theres no denying that and he was better than Prior.

Prior had more of an upside.

Matt Freaking Clement - Andy - 07-31-2009

This wraps up Prior's entire career:

Sep 30, 2004 Prior pitches, probably, his best game. 9IP, 3H, 1R, 1BB, 16K's. He gets a no decision and the Cubs lose in 12.

Matt Freaking Clement - Bricklayer - 07-31-2009

Oh oh, can I play "What ever happen to..." (recent past edition)

Here it goes

What ever happen to Greg Maddux? I remember him with the Padres then he fell off the face of the freaking earth.

What ever happen to Jim Edmonds? I remember him playing for the Cubs last year, then what?

I wish there was a network of informational providers, a kind of interconnected web, where I can search for general knowledge and news that can answer questions that pop in my head at any given moment.

Well thing is We all know where Maddux and Edmonds are. But who talks about Clement. And.. this little thread I started also seemed to start a conversation about pitchers weve had and pitching in general. I could have looked it up all on my own like a big boy. Or I could have started a conversation about it like forums are for
