This looks kind of interesting to me. But is it supposed to be a cheesy romance story, or something with real substance? I really liked Eric Bana in Munich, but I've yet to see anything else with him that's worth a damn.

It was written by the same person who wrote Ghost, so you know it's gonna be good.

That's right. And no way you're getting a piece of it now, asswipe.

No really. I was asking if it's supposed to be a chick-flick, or more of a sci-fi type movie.

It could just be the perfect sci-fi/chick-flick hybrid that the film world is in such desperate need of.

Jacob's Ladder and Stuart Little 2? I knew there were some crazy fucked-up things going on in that damn mouse movie!!!

The Time Traveler's Wife - kbwsb - 08-14-2009

Slate had an excellent article yesterday about the concept of "time travel," (from a scientific POV), and the writer seemed to think that "The Time Traveler's Wife" gets it right.
(At least in the time-travel aspect, which I have always found fascinating.)

Trouble is, I'm exactly like VegasCub...I'd go, but the previews scream Chick-flick.

The Time Traveler's Wife - Baron - 08-14-2009

Spoiler-y paragraph (definitely a chick flick):

The Time Traveler's Wife, published in 2003, is the debut novel of American author Audrey Niffenegger. It is a love story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife, an artist who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences. Niffenegger, frustrated in love when she began the work, wrote the story as a metaphor for her failed relationships.

The Time Traveler's Wife - Giff - 08-14-2009

It's my sister's favorite book of all time, and she's not too into sci-fi, so I'm almost certain it's a chick flick.

Rachel McAdams is hot though.

This looks like a movie my girlfriend would make me see if I had just cheated on her with her best friend on our anniversary while her mom was in the hospital with Lupus.

"jacob's ladder" is a great and creepy death movie. very underrated. the rest of that list is drivel.

Ha! I just now remembered this one. It was directed by Wes Craven. There was a great scene where Kristy Swanson threw a basketball at Anne Ramsey, and it knocked her head off. It was great.

The coolest thing about that movie was all the marketing the studio did for it on TV, billboards and radio. Very effective. I wanted to see it so badly when it first came out, I was obsessed. That said, the movie never lived up to the hype and was kind of a dud. It was just ok IMO. I'd like to see it again though, as its been almost 20 years for me.
