Cubs-Mets 8/29 - BT - 08-29-2009 why does dempster have to suck? Cubs-Mets 8/29 - BT - 08-29-2009 shouldn't our leadoff hitter be able to get a hit every once in a while? Cubs-Mets 8/29 - jstraw - 08-29-2009 Ok, the biggest douche in all of baseball loves "go cubs g." I may need to reconsider. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - Giff - 08-29-2009 I have never seen a team give up so many runs the half inning after they score. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - Clapp - 08-29-2009 Starting to have some fun again. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - Kid - 08-29-2009 They should eject the fan who tried to interfere with the ball. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - Clapp - 08-29-2009 Nice win, still alive. Go Giants. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - Kid - 08-29-2009 That was an insanely fast game. About 2:45 for a nationally-televised game with 15 runs? Cubs-Mets 8/29 - rok - 08-29-2009 This was the first game in 2 weeks where I actually sat down, watched from the 1st pitch on and enjoyed myself. It's kind of nice to watch a game and not get too stressed out about the outcome. Oh well, I know these are meaningless games, but I still like baseball enough to care a little. I'm kind of looking forward to watching Bradley the rest of the year and hoping that Fox is given plenty of ABs rest of the way too. (Soon to be) 5 1/2 games back in the WC isn't meaningless. I know as we saw when the Cubs just played the Nationals that at times it doesn't matter who we're playing, but obviously we'd rather play a team like them than the Phillies. We finish with 6 against the Dbacks and the Pirates at Wrigley, so you tell yourself that you'll win those games(or at least have a good chance to) if you have to. Big longshot, but definitely possible and reason to be interested in the games. Much crazier things have happened. I've kissed girls under 200 pounds. Cubs-Mets 8/29 - jeffy - 08-30-2009 The Cubs aren't finished toying with our emotions this season just yet! I don't want a meaningless September. I want to win...we probably won't but winning doesn't have to be about maintaining a lead. Sure, it's easier to be a Cards fan right now. Easy is nice. This is what being a Cubs fan is...sticking with a team that never does it easy. Ok, somewhere between today and October, futility may arrive. I know this. It's baseball...it's not my soul. I don't have to stop caring when the odds are long to protect myself. I can handle disappointment. I've been handling it for 40 years. If I couldn't..I couldn't make myself care in April. Why sould it be so hard to care in August? Cubs-Mets 8/29 - rok - 08-30-2009 I've already given up, so if we do happen to sneak into the postseason, then that will be a bonus. If not, no big loss. |
