Question for people with MLBtv - Runnys - 01-24-2010
Do you guys like it? I am trying to decide if I want to just get MLBtv for my computer or renew my DirectTV extra innings package.
Any opinions would be appreciated. The difference in money would be about $100 I believe.

I actually get them both. I prefer Extra Innings because I'd rather watch the game on my TV, but I get MLB.TV in order to put a day game on at work when possible, and to watch the handful of games which aren't on Extra Innings (including getting around blackouts). If you're OK with watching a ton of games on your computer, MLB.TV is a reasonable alternative.

I have Dish Network so no Extra Innings. I do watch MLB.tv on my television (thank you Roku). There is a difference in video quality but it's good...just not quite as good. If MLB.tv's history of technical improvements is an indicator, that difference may be reduced or gone in 2010.
One downside is that I have Roku boxes in two rooms and I can't have MLB.tv enabled on both of them at the same time. I have to switch back and forth, which takes about a minute. By contrast, I don't have to dick around like that to watch Netflix Watch Instantly on both boxes.
Kid, how are you getting around blackouts with MLB.tv? The same rules apply. Are you fudging your billing address?

I work from home now, so getting MLBtv probably wouldn't really be that important to me...right? The only plus would be if I was traveling and wanted to watch a game when out of town....not sure it is worth the money.
I probably will stick with the Extra innings package. Maybe I will get gameday audio though that way I can listen to games that aren't on TV or when the Cubs broadcast isn't available.

I have tivo with my MLB, and I get extra innings as well. Since they started broadcasting MLB TV, that's about all I watch when I watch TV.
I literally can't turn the channel.

The thing I really like about MLB.tv is that you can watch multiple games at the same time, and the archive feature is nice so you don't have to worry about recording the games. I have my laptop hooked up to my HD TV, so that makes it nice too.

You can watch multiple games with Extra Innings also...they have a game mix channel that shows 8 games.
