Peavy - funkster - 04-12-2010 I know its early, but I'm pretty glad we didn't give up the farm for him. He kind of sucks. Another 6 ERs in only 3 innings so far. He's got to be hurt...right? I've had a sneaking suspicion for awhile that he's not entirely healthy. Peavy - Butcher - 04-12-2010 He was fantastic in his last few starts with the White Sox last season. Is he historically a slow starter? Given the fact that our starting rotation appears to be our strength, I think you're right -- we didn't need to give up the farm to get Peavy. I don't think he's any better than Z, Demp, or Lilly. If we're going to sell the farm for a starting pitcher, it better be for someone like Halladay. Peavy - Ace - 04-12-2010 Boom Silva'd. I expect him to have an ERA around 4. Peavy - rok - 04-12-2010 From what I saw, his mechanics are just not right. His fastball was pretty flat, and he was unable to locate his slider. I expected him to regress quite a bit in the AL and in a hitter friendly home park, but given how hittable he's looked in his first 2 starts, something may indeed be wrong with him. That trade still pisses me off, but less so these days. Peavy - biggz - 04-12-2010 Peavy and Roberts: Possibly the two best trades never made? Probably wouldn't have made a bit of difference, but you never know if he could have been a sparkplug like Lofton was in 2003. Peavy - funkster - 04-13-2010 It seems like there is something more going on then just the transition to the AL. His velocity also seems to be down.
