PNC Club - 1060Ivy - 04-17-2010 As an anniversary gift my wife surprised me by upgraded my tickets to yesterday's game from bleachers to the PNC Club. Arrived at the game and received a text message to go to the ticket window where my tickets were being held. The PNC Club is new to Wrigley this year. Basically, the Cubs took 5 skyboxes in RF, combined and expanded them. It's basically a modern skybox with lots of oak, leather, flat screens and hostesses. Area has seat for somewhere between 65 - 100 fans. The tickets include food and drink. The Club is fairly exclusive - ticket prices will choke most large farm animals - but the people I met were friendly and outgoing. Fairly certain that I was the only person in the club who rode his bike to the game. [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] After the Cubs scored 6 runs in the 7th inning, I turned to grab a dog and another John Daly and noticed Tom Ricketts. I waited a few minutes and then introduced myself, congratulated him on the purchase of the Cubs and requested a picture. At Ace's request, I mentioned SOI and even showed him the current game thread. Appears that Tom is fairly used to this behavior. He was cool about the whole thing. His wife brought him a beer during our brief conversation. I don't expect him to remember any of this but it still was cool to talk to the Cubs owner. [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] After the game, I was about to depart when I noticed Bob Brenly. Also was able to get a quick pick with Bob. Pictures of the PNC Club, Wrigley view from the Club, Ricketts picture with me, Ricketts picture with me and a buddy (Yes, that is a Dr. Dre Chronic shirt he has on) and Brenly pic. Overall, it was a cool experience. If I cash wasn't an issue, I would return on a regular basis but if cash wasn't an issue, I might have attempted to purchase the Cubs. PNC Club - cigar - 04-17-2010 That is cool as hell. Consider me jealous. PNC Club - Ace - 04-17-2010 Just as a clarification - it wasn't Ace's request. I think it was Andy. But that said: (1) it's awesome that you did it, and (2) had I been in the game thread at that time, I would have said the same thing. Hell of an experience, 1060 - thanks for the story and the pictures. PNC Club - Ace - 04-17-2010 Also, how hilariously awesome is it that Tom Ricketts is wearing an ID name badge? PNC Club - Coach - 04-17-2010 Yeah, does the ID badge say Tom Ricketts Owner PNC Club - funkster - 04-17-2010 How much was the ticket? PNC Club - Destined - 04-17-2010 Did it feel really uppity? PNC Club - bz - 04-17-2010 Looks awesome. I'm jealous. I thought it was funny that Ricketts has to wear a name tag, as well. PNC Club - jeffy - 04-17-2010 Very nice. Sounds like you have a good wife too. PNC Club - kbwsb - 04-17-2010 Kick-ass story. Great pics. Thanks for sharing. PNC Club - Butcher - 04-17-2010 Awesome. Thanks for sharing the pics. Plus, the hostesses and staff appeared to go out of there way to make people feel at home. PNC Club - jstraw - 04-18-2010 The Brenly pic or it didn't happen. PNC Club - 1060Ivy - 04-18-2010 <!--quoteo(post=90515:date=Apr 18 2010, 10:51 AM:name=jstraw)-->QUOTE (jstraw @ Apr 18 2010, 10:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->The Brenly pic or it didn't happen.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Used up all the attachment space with the other pics. Can I delete the existing attachment, add the brenly pic and still keep the other existing pics in the thread? Basically, what's the best way to include pics into thread?
