Multiple sources tell the Tribune that during a Monday morning news conference, the Cubs and White Sox will announce a new tradition -- a trophy (and the public bragging rights) to the club which wins the annual city series between them. We're told a tiebreaker is in place should the teams split the six games 3-3.

I have to admit, playing IU every year for the Old Oaken Bucket makes it more interesting.
That being said, IU/Purdue is a rivalry where as Cubs/Sox should not be. Casual fans for both sides are going to love this. The first time the White Sox get hold of that trophy though, you know you'll be hearing about it every time you leave the house with a Cubs hat on. It will definitely generate even more of a buzz. It's smart from a strictly business point of view.
