The doucher hasn't walked since May 1. That's in like 100 plate appearances. What a cocky, arrogant piece of shit. He's back to his stupid giant leg kick and swinging at everything.

A real manager would bench his ass for a few days and try to explain the role he should have for our team. And thanks for all the help, Rudy.

Ryan Theridiot - rok - 05-28-2010

I'm starting to remember why I didn't like him when he first came up. 2008 was his career year. With this approach, he will never see an OBP above .330 again. Platoon him with Fontenot until he gets his shit together, or indefinitely.

Ryan Theridiot - jstraw - 05-28-2010

Is he so stupid that he doesn't understand the difference between is approach earlier, when he had that streak going and his approach now?

Maybe it's just not that easy, and he's just not that good.

Ryan Theridiot - vegascub - 05-28-2010

It works for Jeff Francoeur. And he's a super-duper star!

No, he's not good, never has been. He has no business being a full time player. If he's still a Cub come next offseason, I suspect he won't be offered arbitration either.

QUOTE "You never go up there trying to draw walks," Theriot said. "You don't want to go up there being defensive. You want to get hits. I feel like I've done a good job getting hits this year and getting on base.

"One thing I don't want to be is passive at the plate. I want to be aggressive. Would it be good to walk more? Of course. It'd be great to have 30 walks. But I wouldn't sacrifice 30 hits for 30 walks."

QUOTE "He needs to get the free pass from time to time," Piniella said Friday. "You can't go a month with one walk. That's one thing he has to get better at. He's the type of player who should be able to work the count, lay off bad pitches, 3-2, and get walks. Does he have to walk 20 times out of 100? No. But he should walk 10 times out of 100."

Ding.

Why the hell aren't Theriot and Fontenot platooning? They should have been doing that for years, but now that's really the only option.

If Lou ever wakes up, maybe this will occur to him.

Ryan Theridiot - Clapp - 05-29-2010

Theriot swings 3-1 every goddamn time. He gets an extra-base hit once with every 10 hits. 2 years ago he'd usually take the 3-1 pitch, because he was patient and still would put the ball in play with regularity on 3-2. He's chased so many pitches out of the zone, it's ridiculous. He's seriously refusing to walk.

And that's the best thing Lou's said all season. I'm glad he finally stepped up and said that.

Except he was told by a reporter that Theriot hadn't walked in a month. Lou had no fucking clue.

He then had to be reminded to take his pills. The ones in the Tuesday slot.

Ryan Theridiot - cigar - 05-29-2010

It ridiculous that little Font and Colvin both are not starting more against right handers. This really could be a pretty good team if the players they have were used the correct way.

Ryan Theridiot - Ace - 05-29-2010

Colvin obviously needs to play more - but that said, I can't fault Lou for having played him little over the past few weeks. Soriano ain't sitting, and Byrd had been the most consistent hitter on the team from day one. That leaves Fukudome, and he's a lefty, too.
