White Sox trying hard to get Adam Dunn - kbwsb - 07-20-2010 <!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->White Sox make pitch for Dunn Nationals GM Mike Rizzo said over the weekend that he has not received any appealing trade offers yet for first baseman Adam Dunn. Maybe that's because Rizzo has set the bar way too high. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, White Sox GM Kenny Williams spent the last few days trying desperately to land Dunn, offering up "anyone and anything he has in the minor leagues in a package." Williams is willing to including pitcher Daniel Hudson or infielder Dayan Viciedo as part of the deal, but an unnamed source says "the problem Kenny is finding out is that Rizzo is acting like Dunn is Ryan Howard." The Nationals may be fast approaching fish-or-cut-bait time with the slugger who is on the verge of his seventh consecutive season with 38 or more homers. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe wrote earlier this month that the Nats may be forced to deal Dunn unless they decide to commit to a multi-year, big-money contract.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> White Sox trying hard to get Adam Dunn - funkster - 07-20-2010 They have absolutely nothing in their minor league system to give up for him...with the exception of the kid they took this year. Flowers has been pretty bad this year. Do you think that is the best offer anyone would give them for Dunn? Further, do you think Kenny makes that deal? The Sox have exactly one and a half prospects worth anything. Hudson is on the major league squad filling in for Peavy. Morel might interest someone. After that, not so much. Danks is being compared with Sam Fuld right now, Flowers can't hit, and I can't even think of anyone else worth mentioning. Is Viciedo a prospect? White Sox trying hard to get Adam Dunn - rok - 07-21-2010 On local radio this morning, they mentioned that Hudson and Viciedo is the best package KW would be willing to offer, but who knows? I doubt that is enough. White Sox trying hard to get Adam Dunn - Butcher - 07-21-2010 They have a 3.5 game lead. The Tigers have lost 7 in a row and the Twins (despite taking 3 of 4 from the Sox) haven't been playing well lately. They're going to coast into the playoffs. Once again, I'm in hell.
