Snowman is his nickname because his skin color is similar to that of Frosty the Snowman. Clapp nicknamed him the Abysmal Snowman.
Yes he did suck and still does, he was a wasted roster spot. I'm afraid Russell will be the same thing. He is making the roster simply because we literally have no one else. Thankfully Russell can and probably will be sent down when Lilly comes back. We had to deal with Snowman for months because of the rule 5 shit.

Yeah... I didn't want to risk offending anybody with "Powder"(by the way I was kicked out of the theater at that movie for laughing too much).
And yeah that's the thing... he's going to be a complete waste of a roster spot most likely, unless he really shows he can do well against lefties. But just in general he hasn't impressed me at all in the times I've seen him this spring(even though the results were good, but so were Snowman's last ST... kind of amazing Snowman's were too when you consider how piss poor he actually is and how he had to deal with the Arizona sun), and his minor league stats are pretty blah at best. I haven't seen his stats as a reliever only though. We'll see, but I'm not expecting it to go well.
At the same time, if it comes down to Silva and Russell when Lilly comes back, I might still rather have the Huge Doucher.
