Farm System - CFOrfan - 02-05-2014 That stat line is for a 20 year old. If Baez would play 162 games in MLB THIS season (right?). He's obviously bound to improve on that. How many 20 year olds set the league on fire? Every now and then, but not often. Farm System - funkster - 02-05-2014 Also remember that's good enough to push him as the number 1 prospect according to them. Farm System - Kid - 02-19-2014 Baseball America's top 100 has 7 Cubs, 5 in the top 41: 5. Baez 8. Bryant 28. Edwards (from what I was reading tonight, it sounds like they're all in on Edwards) 36. Almora 41. Soler 87. Johnson 100. Alcantara Farm System - Coldneck - 02-19-2014 Quote:Baseball America's top 100 has 7 Cubs, 5 in the top 41:That's about as bullish as I've seen. Can't wait for 2016 Farm System - rok - 02-20-2014 The footage they showed of Edwards on the MLB show for BA has me really impressed with him. Very easy delivery and generates a ton of velocity. They raved about his 12-6 curve too. Not sure I buy all the doubts about his durability. He looks wiry not fragile. Farm System - Coldneck - 02-20-2014 Quote:The footage they showed of Edwards on the MLB show for BA has me really impressed with him. Very easy delivery and generates a ton of velocity. They raved about his 12-6 curve too. Not sure I buy all the doubts about his durability. He looks wiry not fragile. He has the height (6'2"). He's just skinny. He'll probably fill out as he ages like most people do. Farm System - CFOrfan - 02-25-2014 Armando Rivero threw for the Cubs the other day. Sounds like he has been very impressive. He was one of the first international signees that Theo/Hoyer had a few years back. Him and Vizcaino have apparently been the most impressive (Jackson too...not Brett) Farm System - rok - 02-25-2014 At 26 you would have to believe that he doesn't have a lot of time left to impress. Where would Rivero fit in? Starter or pen? Farm System - funkster - 02-25-2014 I think they see him as a pen arm. Farm System - CFOrfan - 02-25-2014 Definitely a pen arm and probably this season. Might be the first pitcher called up if he starts at AAA. Tops out 94-96. FB, splitter, and a curve/slider. We'll know what the Cubs have in him this season. Farm System - vitaminB - 02-26-2014 Looks like Vogelbach has lost 30 pounds this offseason in an attempt to lose the DH only label. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article/chc/cubs-prospect-dan-vogelbach-trims-down-for-larger-role?ymd=20140225&content_id=68312236 Farm System - CFOrfan - 02-27-2014 If he can learn to be serviceable in the OF/3B...that would be scary. Farm System - vitaminB - 02-27-2014 Just being a serviceable 1B doubles the trade interest. Farm System - rok - 02-27-2014 If we could flip him for a Cashner-type (a la Rizzo) at some point then sign me up. Farm System - vitaminB - 03-01-2014 The legend of Kris Bryant continues. Drives a slider 420 feet to straight away center in his first ST at bat, knocking in future WS teammate Albert Almora. |
