Farm System - PcB - 01-23-2014 Quote:Are any of those dudes pitchers? Edwards and Johnson. Farm System - rok - 01-23-2014 If Hendry were still in charge, he'd probably try to convert 1/2 of them into Randy Wells types. Farm System - funkster - 01-23-2014 Keep in mind they also think Paul Blackburn has the ceiling of a number 2. Gonna keep my eye on his this year. Also want to see what happens with Jacob Hannemann. I get the feeling the FO really likes this kid even though we don't much about him. Farm System - vitaminB - 01-23-2014 Baez, Bryant, Almora, Alcantra and Vogelback are all top five in their position group as well according to the MLB site. Farm System - Butcher - 01-23-2014 Quote:Baez, Bryant, Almora, Alcantra and Vogelback are all top five in their position group as well according to the MLB site. Well...that's encouraging. Farm System - CFOrfan - 01-23-2014 Got a chance to meet Brett Jackson yesterday, he was working out at Cal. Hopefully he cashes in on his last chance. Farm System - Kid - 01-23-2014 MLB.com unveiled its top 100 prospects tonight. 7 Cubs on the list. #7 - Baez #9 - Bryant #18 - Almora #42 - Edwards #49 - Soler #89 - Alcantara #100 - Johnson Farm System - rok - 01-24-2014 And if Vizcaino is truly healthy, he'd be on that list too. Nice showing. Farm System - Dirk - 01-24-2014 Quote:MLB.com unveiled its top 100 prospects tonight. 7 Cubs on the list.If 3 of those dudes stick in the majors we'll be in pretty good shape. Farm System - BT - 01-24-2014 Quote:The write up on Baez is supposed to be particularly good.He gave him an 80 on power potential, which is pretty much beyond rare. The final line sums it up pretty well: Quote: Farm System - Jody - 01-24-2014 I'm kind of suprised Vogelbach didn't make the top 100. Farm System - funkster - 01-24-2014 Quote:He gave him an 80 on power potential, which is pretty much beyond rare. The final line sums it up pretty well: Quote: </div> </blockquote> Man it would be nice to have a superstar. Farm System - rok - 01-24-2014 Quote:I'm kind of suprised Vogelbach didn't make the top 100.Yeah, I totally missed that. He should be at least borderline though, but wonder if the defensive limitations were the main reason for excluding him. Farm System - CFOrfan - 01-24-2014 You know what would be cool? A package built around Soler and Johnson for CarGo if the Rockies start slow and Vogelbach package for a #2 type next year. CarGo + a solid 2 with Bryant, Almora, Baez, etc would put the Cubs in 2015 wild card chatter Farm System - Scarey - 01-24-2014 Quote:Yeah, I totally missed that. He should be at least borderline though, but wonder if the defensive limitations were the main reason for excluding him. </blockquote> It is extremely difficult for a guy that only projects as a 1B/DH to get notoriety. If he had put up Baez type numbers, he likely would be in the top 100, but probably still on the lower half. |
