Yes...but perhaps for both sides. He may be un-tradable at a reasonable cost. We may be stuck with him and the Cubs may need to put a better face on it.

Yeah I read them. There is not a chance in hell he is back with the Cubs. His teamates have already disowned him for the most part. He will be crucified the next time he steps foot in Wrigley Field. He is done with the Cubs.

I hope you're right. But it would be right up the Cubs' alley to further harm a guy's trade value just before trying to trade him, and then fail to get any even remotely acceptable offers, and then keep the guy.

The situation is irreparable with the Cubs. His apology was issued to make him more tradeable to "other" teams, not to fix the situation here.

This was my thought when reading his apology as well. He won't be a Cub next year.

If the Rays convince the Cubs that Burrell could excel by returning to the NL in the walk year of his contract, they might have a willing partner.
