Spring Training 2010 - jstraw - 03-26-2010 I don't want Colvin to break camp with the team. But I think Lou has decided he is. I think it could wait till one of the OFers pulls a butt muscle. Spring Training 2010 - ruby23 - 03-26-2010 Colvin's never gonna be anything more than a 4th or 5th OFer anyway. If he's the guy Lou wants and he's been doing better than Fuld, I see nothing wrong with him breaking camp with the team. Might as well see if he can do anything as the spare piece he's destined to be. Spring Training 2010 - jstraw - 03-26-2010 I want him to be up and I think he would be, the first time an OFer goes on the DL. I just think he'll get more ABs in AAA till that day comes. I just think it would be better if he starts the year in the minors. We don't have room for him in our OF, it sure seems like he would make a nice trading piece to bring in something at the deadline or maybe earlier. Like I said, I know you are positive he won't amount to anything..but there is always that .005% chance that you could possibly be wrong and not actually have a clue about what kind of player Colvin will be. At the same time, Fuld is so one-dimensional, and he does nothing for me. I'd rather keep a guy like Colvin who possibly could provide some offense and isn't bad defensively either and see if he can hit ML pitching. You send him down to AAA, and I doubt it does much for his development at this stage of his career.
