Again, if money's the issue I totally understand that, I can't said I'd be thrilled about spending 3.6 on a LOOGY either. But you can't say a guy with a .594 OOPS (vs LHH) sucks but a guy with a .603 OOPS (vs LHH) is "made for getting out lefties". That just doesn't make sense.

Hendry can't clear all of Marquis salary. Not even close. I've seen articles saying we'd have to pay $5+ million of his salary to get him of the books. I'm not quite sure why, but the fact remains that nobody really wants Marquis. If they did he would have been gone last offseason.

Aren't those deals in which the Cubs were getting something significant back? People are also assuming the Mets aren't expecting us to pick up anymore of Marquis' salary. If it's as hard as you guys claim it is to move Marquis, I would expect us to pay 4-5mill on Marquis contract in this deal. Not worth it.

You realize that he was once one of the best SP prospects in the Cubs system and couldn't stay healthy, right? You realize he was switched to the bullpen because if this, right? You realize he missed 2 entire seasons because of his elbow, correct? Schoeneweis has a career .835 OPS against righties. That's like having Derrek Lee bat against you every AB! At least Ohman has a passable .756 OPS against righties.
