On the one hand, that would be very enjoyable.  On the other, it doesn't get Shildt fired a month after he is made manager.  (Also they can't finish 1/2 game back.  The season finishes with differences of whole games.)

I'm envisioning another tie game like the Cubs had in 2016.

If that game had mattered for the standings, they would have had to resume it.  So, if you'd otherwise finish 1/2 game ahead or behind, they'll make you play or resume a postponed or suspended game.

Must you step on a young boy's dreams?

The Shildt is a hit with fans.

Can't say I like this recent development one bit...

Nope.  I know they'll probably overpay for a one year rental, but PG is a big get.  This is what concerns me about the offseason.  Really don't think the Cubs can sit back and hope everyone performs.

Cardinals - rok - 12-05-2018

No sir, I don't like it.

Cardinals - 1060Ivy - 12-05-2018

Damn

Only upside is the article by Cards faithful beat writers when he doesn’t resign with them next offseason

Cardinals - funkster - 12-05-2018

Cubs gonna counter with a Billy Hamilton signing.

Then again, almost everything the cubs did in the offseason last year made them worse, I don't know what to think.

Cardinals - rok - 12-05-2018

And I doubt the Cards are even done making big moves. They still need bullpen help, as do we.

Cardinals - VanSlawAndCottoCheese - 12-05-2018

Wow. That's a shit-ton to give up for one year. Amazing player, but wow.

Cardinals - Auz - 12-20-2018

Good grief

Cardinals - BigBoy - 12-20-2018

Cardinals - rok - 12-20-2018

I hope it's a 3-year deal.
