Sounds like he re-worked his swing where he now keeps both hands on the bat through the zone, which hopefully gives him more power and should put less stress on the shoulder as well. Can't wait to see some video.

Farm System - Butcher - 08-26-2018

I saw some video of him taking BP with the two-handed follow through. He might not get the same insane launch angle, but maybe an uptick in exit velocity.

And maybe his shoulder won't fall apart.

You think the Cubs are looking at the waiver wire for another starter? Or is Monty good enough going forward? I dont have any faith in Quintana.

One more reclamation project at AAA.

So the Emeralds had a losing record in the division but still make the playoffs due to a strange format, then go 5-0 in the playoffs including a 3-0 sweep of the team with the best record. They win the championship via a walk off balk.

That's Cub.

Not only that, didn't they have the worst overall record in the league or something like that?

We have a weird point system in mexican winter ball as well. Basically you can be shit on the first half, good on the second and manage to make the playoffs, then it's a toss-up from there. Hell, you can even lose your first playoff series and still become champion due to a strange in-playoffs Wild Card. Shit can get crazy for sure.

According to AZ Phil the following minor leaguers have been let go, and only a few re-signed for 2019.

Quote:CUBS 2018 MLB RULE 55 MINOR LEAGUE FREE-AGENTS:

Jeffrey Baez, OF

Alberto Baldonado, LHP

Wynton Bernard, OF

Corey Black, RHP

Stephen Bruno, INF

Chris Coghlan, OF-1B

Casey Coleman, RHP

Ryan Court, INF

Mike Freeman, INF

Terrance Gore, OF

Trey Martin, OF

Cory Mazzoni, RHP

Jose Paulino, LHP

Bijan Rademacher, OF

Jose Rosario, RHP

Kyle Ryan, LHP

Daury Torrez, RHP

A club receives no compensation for losing a minor league free-agent.

A minor league free-agent can sign a major league or minor league contract with any club (including the player's former club) without any restrictions, so it's possible that one or more of the Cubs minor league free-agents will re-sign with the Cubs at some point during the off-season.

INF Gioskar Amaya, 1B-OF Yasiel Balaguert, OF Roberto Caro, C Erick Castillo, RHP Erick Leal, and OF-1B Chris Pieters were eligible to be Rule 55 minor league 6YFA and LHP Danny Hultzen was eligible to be a Rule 55 second-contract minor league FA post-2018, but each of them signed a 2019 minor league successor contract in the days and weeks prior to the deadline.

Too bad Corey Black never could get right.

Farm System - rok - 11-04-2018

Remember when Yankees fans were beside themselves over losing him for Soriano?

Until you said that I had completely forgotten how he got here from the Yankees.
