It's called the "Double Down" eh? Must be because you are gambling with your life everytime you eat one.
And sausage/beef combos are awesome, but as I've gotten older I have become a beef snob, and I stick to a traditional Italian beef with hot giardiniera, not too juicy. It is the food of the gods.

I've decided to have some Al's Beef shipped to me for my birthday. The full kit is reasonably priced. I like mine sweet, hot and wet.

I'm a big boy who loves to pack it in, but for the life of me, I don't get the love affair for bacon. All it does for me is offer a vague promise of better, more succulent meat.
I appear to be alone in this belief, particularly in central Ohio.

There's one transplant from Chicago in my neck of the woods whose restaurant specializes in deep dish pies, dogs and beef. Wholly Joe's is practically the only place in Columbus where I can hunt own some giardiniera.

There's a place I haven't been to yet in the Kansas City area so I have no idea how it is.
There's all kinds of giardiniera around but most of it's not the kind found on a Chicago beef sandwich.
