Theoretical question: What if we get a lights out, Marmol-like Z to pitch the 8th inning. And we get an average of 6 innings a start and a 4.25 ERA from Silva and Gorzo. Does this make it a good move?

Z to the Pen - biggz - 04-21-2010

I know the money doesn't really matter...but...$18MM for a fucking reliever?

Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen effective Friday. Solid move if he is mentally into it. At least the Cubs are trying to do something!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So is Zambrano gonna pitch the 7th and 8th inning everyday?

I'm loving the idea of Z inheriting runners.

Yikes.

Z to the Pen - Butcher - 04-21-2010

Zambrano's three "worst" seasons 07, 08, and 09 are all better than Silva's (05, 07) and Gorzo's (07) best seasons.

This is just a terrible knee-jerk reaction of a move by Lou.

I wonder if he will yell at the previous pitcher for leaving them on base for him.

It's mavericky.

Z to the Pen - ColoradoCub - 04-21-2010

Lou says this may not be a temporary thing

Z to the Pen - phan - 04-21-2010

how do we know this is official?

Z to the Pen - jeffy - 04-21-2010

His cramping issues will also probably get worse if he's not on a schedule. This is just retarded on so many levels.

I'm stunned by this move and I don't like it. But I'm not convinced that it won't work.

He'll go all fucking Michael Barrett on them as they pass coming and going.
