I totally agree that the talent gap is closing, but by how much I have no idea. Also, the importance of the DH seems to have diminished this year though, and if you look around you'll see a ton of shitty DHs and #8 hitters around the AL. Still better than batting the SP, but not by much. It also seems that a large % of AL teams are playing more of an NL type game with bunting, speed, and defense being emphasized more, and that has resulted in less than stellar lineups over there.

The Meth Heads have beaten the Cubs, Nationals, Pirates and Braves in the their last 4 series. These teams combined are 25 games under 500 with only the Braves being an over 500 team (42-30).
Basically, the Sux have gotten back to 500 by beating bad teams which is what a decent team is supposed to do.

Yep, and they aren't just winning series, they are sweeping these teams. A ton of the games have been close, but they are still taking care of business.
