Both guys were rested today.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> I like that he used him against the heart of the order. If those guys came up in the 8th, I'd want Marmol then. If it was 6-7-8 or 7-8-9 in the 9th, then use Gregg. But I don't know what Lou is thinking. Hopefully he's thinking what I'm thinking. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> You mean to say that you hope Lou is thinking that while painful and embarassing when put on the internet, anal clown sex can be a zesty and invigorating activity? <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> That's precisely what I meant. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Yep, I knew it. Bullpen - Butcher - 04-17-2009 I will never, ever forgive bz. Ever. I agreed w/ Lou's decision to keep Zambrano in the game. His pitch count was reasonable and he was a better than any one in the pen except Marmol. Bullpen - Scarey - 04-18-2009 I asked in the game thread, but I'll ask again. Guzman is throwing a LOT of fastballs. He's pitched pretty well so far, but I would love to see his change up on occasion, especially today against Ankiel with two strikes. Also, does he not throw his curve anymore? I remember it being a plus pitch for him when he was still starting. I could see them eliminating it to keep him healthy, but I don't think they would get rid of it because it wasn't effective. Bullpen - Fella - 04-18-2009 I know he throws a slider, not sure about a curve. He was throwing a ton of fastballs today though for sure, almost every pitch. He's been one of our best pitching prospects since the days of ITI, and yet he <i>just</i> picked up his first ever ML win. Bullpen - Clapp - 04-19-2009 Looked like he was throwing curveballs to me in ST. Bullpen - sleepyhead - 04-20-2009 <!--quoteo(post=31678:date=Apr 19 2009, 09:53 PM:name=Clapp)-->QUOTE (Clapp @ Apr 19 2009, 09:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Looked like he was throwing curveballs to me in ST.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> He was throwing curveballs earlier in the year. He had a sick one in Houston especially. Don't think the lack of one on Saturday means much of anything. Bullpen - kbwsb - 04-20-2009 So, he's got a curve, a good change, a slider he can throw for strikes, and a fine MLB heater. I would bet that he'll quickly become Lou's fair-haired boy in the pen, as long as he throws strikes. Bullpen - Jody - 04-20-2009 He was throwing his curve with a lot of bite in his first outing this year. |
