Obviously I'm new here. I live in MN but have Chicago roots on both sides of my family. Yet no one in my family has the enthusiasm for the Cubs I do. Part of that may have to do with said family coming from the South side, but there's no big Sox presence either. Last time I went to Wrigley (2011) my neutral uncle and his neighbor were giving me crap for everything from refusing to drink Bud at Wrigley in favor of Old Style (Always seemed sacrilegious to drink Bud at Wrigley IMO) to debating the ethics of throwing back an opponent's home run ball. Of course I'd throw it back no questions asked. My uncle looked at me like I was an alien or something.
As for the Cubs this year, they'll improve, but losing Houston means we'll probably take last place in the Central. I'm fine with that if there's improvement in the club from game #1 to game #162. Theo's been preaching patience and it's going to take years to clean up Hendry's messes.
