For some reason, I hear some Cubs fan thinking that they will actually break camp with 3 lefty's in the bullpen, because James Russell has pitched well in limited appearances. But, they already have Grabow and Marshall as locks for the pen as lefty's (Marshall is not starting).
Grabow is your late inning lefty set up man, and marshall is your middle of the game lefty out of the pen. It makes absolutely no sense to have your other middle inning pen guy to be a lefty as well. Unless you think Russel with no major league experience is going to be your "lefty specialist" this team will not leave camp with 3 lefty's, one of them being a complete NEWB, in the bullpen.
When I look at the final spot in the bullpen like that, the competition is just between Mateo, Parisi and Gaub...barring any late spring trade acquisition.
